El sindarin es una de las lenguas élficas creadas por J.R.R. Tolkien para su legendarium de la Tierra Media. Evolucionó a partir de sus lenguas anteriores, el «gnómico» y el «noldorin» (iniciadas hacia 1917), y adquirió su forma definitiva alrededor de 1944. Inspirado principalmente en el galés, presenta mutaciones consonánticas, un complejo sistema de plurales y un sonido fluido y melódico. Es la lengua cotidiana de los Elfos Grises y se habla con frecuencia en El Señor de los Anillos.
